This is not an engagement session. This is just a documentary of some moments in life, a fun time shared by two lovers, and a family day out.
Aki has just arrived in Toronto for less than a week and her wedding with Simon is around the corner in five days. We've decided to document their time together doing some last minute preparation for the wedding and a leisure walk from little Italy to Kensington Market. Aki's sister Kyoko who came all the way from Australia for the wedding joined us. The lovely maid of honor tried on the traditional Chinese dress Qipao, which she'll be wearing on the wedding day, for the first time. Aki's father who just arrived the city from Tokyo the day before also joined us for the walk. Aki and Simon met in Toronto when Aki's travelling in the city a few years back. The two had since been in a long distance relationship and are now throwing an intimate wedding party in Toronto. Long distance lovers always fascinate me. It gives me goosebumps to see love conquers distance and other challenges. It's such a honor to document Aki's time with Simon in Toronto and to be the one illustrating the happy ending of their long distance love story.
This is not an engagement session. This is a documentary of some real moments in the present, moments that make us who we are.
Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present. - Bill Keane
