There is the idea of living a fairy tale and that everything on your wedding day has to be perfect. That is a very noble and honourable notion, but not one that I necessarily hold dear. Rather, I believe in imperfections. I believe in love. I believe in relationships. I believe in the closeness of families and intimacy of friendships. We all know how imperfect they can be at times, but also know that there is something in them that we hold on to no matter what. I believe in the fleeting emotions and the candid moments that makes each of our life unique and beautiful, the spaces between the poses where true love is imminently apparent. My job as a wedding photographer is to document those. The feedback I hear the most from my couples is that they do not want to be the centre of attention, yet their wedding is very important to them because they look forward to celebrating their union with their loved ones. I never get tired hearing that. To me, that's the essence of a real wedding. Admittedly, I love a cool venue, unique wedding decors and an elegant wedding dress as well, but at the core of it all, it is the people that I look forward to photograph going into every wedding. Collaboratively, you make these memories together. And me? I enjoy capturing these memories in photographs. A small collection you can treasure into you golden years. Nothing more. Nothing less.
