Road Trip to Washington D.C.

April 2015

It's early April and it's still -10 degree celsius in Toronto. We thought that's a perfect reason to pack up and drive down to somewhere with more reasonable Spring weather to spend the long weekend. I have never been to the capital of our neighbour United States and it's one of the cities that are within the 10-hour one-way drive circle from Toronto so the choice was made without effort. We also planned to see the famous cherry blossom in Washington D.C.. It turned out that the 18-hour drive was well worth it for the 20 degree celsius gain. The route we took from Toronto to Washington was charming with a mixture of late winter and early spring scenes. Although Spring also came late in Washington and the cherry trees have just started to bloom, we had a great time museum hopping and people watching in the city.
